Online Stock & Currency Trading

Thanks to the Age of the Internet it is now possible to play alongside Wall Street and all the major financial centers in the world for that matter. Yes, you can invest or trade anywhere in the world today from your computer at home! That is phenomenal change from just 25 years ago when you had to call your broker or bank to execute a trade on your behalf. Now you can do it all yourself online often for $3-12 a trade. You can open up accounts at Scottrade, Schwab, Ameritrade, Etrade to name but a few. I like Scottrade personally as they have excellent service, an easy user interface and retail locations. For the more spohisticated traders, I like Interactive Brokers. You can trade multiple markets from one account and access stocks markets worldwide.

So, Thats the good news! However, making money at investing, or trading in stocks, options or currencies is not an easy business to succeed in - like most things. You have to approach this arena with a healthy dose of caution! and move slowly to begin with. Its easy to loose a lot of sleep and money trading online.

You need to have a system and discipline to succeed and you also need to learn how to manage your risk and money. So as I mentioned above, move slowly, educate yourself thoroughly, trade on paper to begin with and see how you do. You must operate with stop losses, meaning that if your stock or currency falls by a certain percentage you SELL. Likewise when you are making money you should set stop lossess on the way up to protect your profits. This is critical and you should NOT TRADE unless you are willing to do this. Afterall the purpose is to make money and you have to protect your capital fiercely in order to succeed at trading or investing.

Generally speaking stay away from the so called “Day-Trading” programs. This is a game for the very skilled professionals. There may be an occasional day trade you can particpate in and make money but thats different from trading every day. Please be very cautious if you do choose this route.

There are tremendous opportunities to make money in the stock market and likewise loose money!
So excercize discipline, educate yourself thoroughly (its a lifelong process!), and move slowly to begin with. There are a myriad of errors that can be made and the stock market is an expensive tutor!

To Your Success!
